Coney Island.

While in New York this past week, my sisters, cousin, and Mom took an adventure to Coney Island. It was lovely being by the ocean, although it was extremely windy and freezing, and I might say we might have been a bit crazy.....but, eh, it was adventurous ;)

M.I.A.--Oscars.

I am so sorry I have been MIA lately--my 91 year old Grandmother passed away last Monday and I have been gone in NYC this past week for the funeral, and other events centered around her passing. She was and will always be one of the most amazing woman I have ever met. Later this week, I will do a post on her life and the different areas she has influenced me for years to come (stay tuned!!)

Onto the Oscars--possibly my favorite event of the year, who else is with me?! I eagerly watched the red carpet awaiting the gorgeous gowns. I wasn't too impressed this year, but there were a few with which I loved!
And, let's not forget my ultimate favorite, Meryl Streep won for best actress, and boy am I enthralled she did.

And, here. we. go........

(Meryl in Lanvin)

(Gwyneth in Tom Ford)

(Angelina in Versace)

(Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton)

(Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen)

These were my favorite picks of the night, and I have to say Gwyneth was my ultimate favorite. The dress is absolutely simply, gorgeous and on top of that the amazing Tom Ford designed it. How could it not be amazing?

What were your favorite picks of the night?
Stay tuned for some style posts this week!

Saturday Brunch.

My dearest friend, Melissa is moving off to NYC to begin living her dreams :) She is an incredible person, and amazing friend and has inspired me to dream, dream, dream--I have no doubt in my mind she is going to make a name for herself in the big apple.

Today, we enjoyed a lovely brunch at a cute local restaurant--and then of course we had to have a good 'ol H&M shopping spree as well :-)

I hope you had the most lovely of Saturdays!

N.Y.F.W: DVF

DVF is the iconic classy, women's designer! Diane is full of wisdom, insight, and grace....for all of that she is one of my personal role models, as well as all time favorite designers. I know Coco Chanel was out of this world iconic--but, I think DVF has a little of what Coco was carrying around as well ;) Enjoy some pictures from her Fall 2012 RTW collection && the backstage video as well!

I hope this provides a little bit of inspiration to your Thursday!

Woman of the Year: Adele.

I hope you all had the most glorious Valentines Day, filled with love, laughter, and the blessing of "giving" to others :-)

As we all know--Adele IS the woman right now. She just walked away with 6 grammies the other night, and boy am I thrilled. After, a week of Karl Lagerfeld (I still love you Karl, just watch your words!) himself saying some pretty nasty comments, I thought she did a pretty good job at the Grammy's of throwing his comments back in his face. Adele is lovely, and she looked AMAZING at the Grammy's. She deserves all the attention she is getting and more. To some more good albums from her......

Make sure you pick up a copy of the March Vogue, which she will be on--looking more gorgeous than ever! Enjoy this little behind the scenes interview she did with Vogue:

N.Y.F.W.: Prabal.

Prabal Gurung, possibly my favorite designer of the moment, live streamed his show on Saturday afternoon, and it quite possibly made my weekend.

Here is a wonderful piece (done 2 years ago-but still relevant!), New York Times, did on Prabal to give you a glimpse into his life. I know you will walk away loving him.

Here are a few shots of his runway show from Saturday; Prabal's Fall 2012 collection:

NYFW has arrived.

NYFW is here, yayy! I cannot wait to see what the designers have ready for Fall 2012 collections!
I think I am most excited to see DVF & Prabal Gurung's collections (as well as my very own school--Academy of Art University). Prabal has quickly become one of my all time favorite designers, he is not just a super talented designer, but he is an amazing person, as well.

While waiting to see what Prabal comes up with for fall 2012, here is a sneak peak through his pre-fall collection--enjoy!

Ballerina Beauty.

I got to snap a few pictures of my lovely sister a few days ago, well, actually, I just forced her to met, haha :). I loved the ballerina look she has going on! I picked up this blouse in Arizona while visiting a dear friend--when I saw it, I just had to have it. I think she wears it quite well ;)

How gorgeous is she? And, yes, she was actually playing the piano.
Who else is absolutely in  love with the sheer trend?
I know, I am. :)
Peace. Love. Joy.

Style Spotlight: Kate Bosworth

It's February 1st, which means a new style spotlight for the month....yay!! This month--Kate Bosworth. Every since I was a little girl, and I saw Blue Crush, I have been utterly obsessed with Kate. I thought she was the most natural beauty ever when I was younger--and I can't say I think differently now. Kate has a way of carrying herself, and allowing who she is to shine through her amazing style--she certainly has a glowing beauty to her. And, for that--she is the artist spotlight for this month :)

Happy Wednesday! Happy February!! :-)
