Advanced Style--Oh, YES!

One of my all time favorite blogs, Advanced Style, by Ari Seth Cohen, just released his first book, which I am eager to pick up! It is pretty much an account of his blog, and the wonderful portraits of the fabulous women he has come to admire over the years.

Cohen is trying to make a documentary about these ageless, fashion icons--watch this trailer, and spread the word! Make sure you stop by and pick up his newly released book too :)
;

I sincerely hope when I am this age, I am just as creative, free, and fabulous with my fashion!

Sheeeeeer Away.

I spent my weekend, well between working and being sleep deprived; going to an orchestra performance at the Kennedy Center in D.C., attending my city's local greek festival, finishing up my school semester, AND celebrating two of my very dear friends, graduations from college :) (of course, there was some shopping going on as well--life story) I'll be posting pictures from all the different events through the week--enjooooy :)

Coolest hairpiece ever, eh? Thanks Lauren Conrad. ;)

One of the most talented and creative individuals I know, my dear friend Katelyn. (middle)

Bridget Bardot.

Bridget Bardot is currently inspiring me in her natural, but at the same time out there way of beauty. Here are some of my favorite pictures of hers...enjoy!
I love Bridget's sense of style, approach to femininity, and the freedom that she expresses.
Amazing.

Happy Sunday! I finished up my Spring semester yesterday, and couldn't be more happy! I am ready for a summer of adventure, creativity, friends, and bliss.

Peace. Love. Joy.

Day of THE Madre.

I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend, and that you enjoyed your day celebrating your mothers in your life! I sure did! My Mom is honestly the most amazing woman I know, and I know I am a bit bias, and who doesn't think their mother is the most amazing? haha, but seriously, the woman is AMAZING, Her grace, joy, ability to love even the most despicable of people. Her tenacious spirit that knows who SHE is, and won't let silly, senseless people tell her otherwise. I hope I carry the many attributes that she has on in my own life through the years. Alas, I digress.....

BTW, among other things, I bought my Momma tickets to an orchestra showing at the lovely Kennedy Center this week. And, boy am I excited. I'll be taking pictures to show you guys.
What is better then getting dressed up, and listening to divine music?
NOTHING, I tell you.
(well, except maybe a Chanel dress ;)

Here is one of my new favorite bands; love this song.
Exit this weekend with some good music :-)

Randoms of Life.

I spent my day running errands, and finishing up final projects for school. Here are a few pics I took throughout the day--sorry some of the picture quality is so terrible, my camera decided to break so my phone will have to do until I purchase another one ;)

MET Gala//a little late.

I know you all have probably enjoyed scrolling through countless pictures of the MET ball already, but I am still going to give you a round-up of my favorite looks from the night. I mean, c'mon it's one of fashions biggest night; where the biggest stars come dressed in some of the most fabulous, brilliant creations.....AND, the amazing designers are in on the party as well. In my world, that is PERFECTION.

(Pictures via Huffington Post)
I think my top two would have to be Scarlett Johansson in Dolce & Gabbana and Lily Collins in Valentino.
What were your favorites of the night?

Bucket List:: Attending the MET Gala--what a dream come true that would be!
Can I get an AMEN? ;)

Peplum Photoshoot.

I am little peplum obsessed, it is certainly my favorite trend of the season. Therefore, my sole purpose is to pick up anything I see with one of this cute little fabric additions. Of course, when I saw this peplum top in H&M, I just had to have it! If you haven't jumped on the "peplum" train yet, I totally say, GO FOR IT! It's a trend that flatters every figure, and the peplums come in all different shapes and sizes.

The following fun photoshoot I did with my dear friend & talented photographer, Katelyn Smoot--ENJOY!

(outfit- H&M, trench-Michael Kors, heels-LC Lauren Conrad)

Let me know what you think of the peplum trend--would love to hear!
Have a gloriously, relaxing Sunday!

Tread on Trafficking

Yesterday, I joined hundreds of other people in an 8 week campaign to raise money for Love146; the organization that Dashing Emancipation will be supporting as well. Love146 is fighting to end child sex trafficking, and secure safety for countless lives around the globe.

My part of the fundraiser is to run 100 miles over the next 8 weeks in hopes of raising funds for Love146, as well as awareness about human trafficking. My overall goal is to raise $500 by the end of the eight weeks, if you'd like to donate or get involved for yourself, please go, here.

I'll be keeping you updated on my progress, and am so thankful for all your donations and help is fighting this great atrocity of human injustice!

Peace. Love. Joy.
