Spring Trend Alert.//

If you're anything like me, you are desperately ready for this long winter to be over,

and for the warm weather to appear.

I tend to follow up this internal plea for warm weather,

with shopping sprees including everything related to the new season of fashion.

I tend to think that this will somehow usher in the new weather season ;)

Cynic Talk.//

It's so easy to be the cynic;

to let life come as it may.

It's much harder to see the good,

the endless possibilities; the hope proponent in life.

I find it has become even harder with the constant stream of bad news all around us--

the economy crashing,

innocent victims dying left and right

(simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time),

countries in constant dispute,

etc.

It's enough to create quite the case for the cynic,

to lay down and allow the selfishness of others to become the ideal for life.

So what--

even if the whole world was one big cynic,

would you really stop being the one who could bring a different story?

A hope story?

If you really want to go against the flow,

be the opposing force

(which, lets admit, the cynic totally thinks they are doing)

be the one who fights for purpose,

for compassion, and for hope. 

It's not easier,

but is sure as heck makes the journey more adventurous.

which means the best of street style are alive and well.

Why I'm In Love--The Carrie Diaries.//

Confession.

I am absolutely smitten with the new show,

The Carrie Diaries.

There is nothing really mind blowing about the script, the acting, or, well,

anything about the show really....

except for one small thing;

the fashion.

There is something so untainted about pre Sex in the City Carrie's love for fashion;

it's so naive if you will.

It's just a girl who loves fashion,

loves what it can do to a person,

and loves the way it can transform the little moments (and big moments)

of life.

I love that.

Absolutely, love it.

So, I mean, if you're into fashion, New York City,

and the 80s, it's got your name on it ;)
