Refresh.

I hope you all had a nice weekend--I spent mine away with close friends & nice downtime. Certainly refreshing; now it's back to the grind at least for the next month or so. (I am anxiously awaiting spontaneous traveling && random creative sessions not involving school assignments :p)

(Sunset on the beach this weekend--mmm, yes!)

(One of my favorites! LOVE)

"The most important thing is the relationship you have with yourself."
Wisdom from the lovely, iconic DVF--need I say more?

Stay tuned this week for some exciting new things I am going to be doing, and a little switch-a-roo with this here blog :)

Present "musings"....

Some things I am currently loving:

Scarlett Johansson on the cover of Vogue:

Caroline Trentini & her AMAZING wedding dress:

Isabel Toledo's: Roots of Style

This woman is absolutely brilliant & certainly one of my top 5 favorite designers. Her whole book pretty much summed up how I feel about fashion (I felt like I was reading my thoughts) and more! It's so nice to see someone as transparent, and in-depth, as well as talented as Isabel in the fashion industry.

A quote from her book:
"Fashion is the weave of life itself, and can address and express the fiber of the human soul."

Now, GO pick up your own copy--every page is absolutely brilliant (yeah, I use that word a lot--oops!)

Hope your week is off to a grand start!
Peace. Love. Joy.

(New awesome photo I found at a flea market a few weeks back--in love!)

Some of my favorites from H&M's Conscious Collection--IN STORES NOW!

Make sure to get into your nearest H&M and pick up a fabulous piece from this collection that is making the fashion industry and what we wear everyday more ethical!
Cheers for that!

Cherry Blossoms Everywhere.

I am sorry this post is happening so late in the week! These pictures were taken on a Sunday afternoon stroll through Baker Park in my town, during a little afternoon study sesh--reading up on all those fabrics & textiles like a good fashion student ;)

Everything must start with some lipstick, eh?

As seen in my last picture I am holding an amazing FEED bag. I absolutely love this company Lauren Bush Lauren has started. She is truly brilliant, and the FEED bags are so lovely, as well as benefitting something so wonderful! I will definitely be buying so many more! Keep an eye out ;) Go check out FEED for yourself, here. (p.s. for all your TOMS fans--they just teamed up with FEED for a special project!)

Hope your week is going splendid! Friday is almost here!
Woop Woop!

Honoring IJM.

IJM has long been an organization I love and support. They were the first organization that really opened me up to the issues of slavery and trafficking in our world, and from the moment they did, it has never left my mind. Over the years, I have continually celebrated with IJM in their victories all over the world, as well as supported them in any way I could.

IJM is currently celebrating their 15 year anniversary as an organization that is fighting injustice globally, and standing up for those who are unable too for themselves. The video below highlights their past 15 years of work as an organization--I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and maybe...just maybe it will stir up passion inside of you to begin to make a difference when it comes to injustice, in whatever way you choose.

Happy Saturday! May it be filled with lots of laughter :)
Peace. Love. Joy.

Coaaaachella Lovin'

Well, with the first week of Coachella beginning today--I thought there was no better time to share the new JewelMint video Kate Bosworth did, surrounding the infamous, Coachella.

It's not secret Kate is a continuous goer to the Coachella festival (as is much of the fashion industry & Hollywood)--she is a trendsetter, and what better place than Coachella to let that shine.

Enjoy the video && here is to gettting to go next year....(crossing fingers!) Are you going to Coachella this year? I would love to hear about it!

For all of us not going--enjoy your Friday, and your weekend!
(And, rock some good music!)
Peace. Love. Joy.

P.S. If you haven't already, check out JewelMint and get shopping--you won't be disappointed!

EGGcellent Day.

I hope you all had a fabulous Easter today! Mine was filled with friend & family time, and of course yummy food--we are about to finish it off with a great movie :) I've pretty much worn a dress for every Easter, but I decided to switch it up a bit with a skirt this go 'round.

Saturday Afternoon in the Sun.

I spent the morning grabbing coffee & breakfast with my dear friend Melissa, who is in town for the holiday weekend. We then proceeded to go to the local flea market--the first for me ever--I know, crazy! With the help of Melissa's bargaining skills I picked up two vintage dresses, and a super cool photograph that is now gracing my bedroom (look for them in future posts!)

(blouse & shorts- H&M, blazer- thrifted, loafers- Missimo)

I hope your Easter weekend is looking bright & joyful!
I am looking forward to the rest of it, forsure :)

April Style Spotlight: Lauren Conrad

If you've followed my blog for awhile now (or if you're one of my closest friends) you know I absolutely LOVE Lauren Conrad. I have since the beginning of The Hills--but not in a, "oh! let's idolize her she is just another reality star" way. Rather, from the get go I think I knew something was different about her, and following her through the years, from her LC Lauren Conrad brand, to her Paper Crown clothing line, to even her bestselling books; she has proven to me that she is in fact different. In a sea of crazy reality stars, and hollywood "it" girls, Lauren prides herself on femininity, hard work, and not having to go all crazy to grab some attention. Lauren is on the cover of Glamour magazine this month, so I figured there was no better time to declare her style spotlight of the month!

I've always LOVED Lauren's style--it's so girly, fun, and classy! Something, I hope to portray through my clothing choices as well :) I hope you enjoy some of these fun pictures that show off Lauren's style! Let me know what you think!

Check out her behind the scenes video for Glamour magazine!

Make sure to pick up a copy of Lauren's Glamour magazine cover today, and check out her two sites, www.laurenconrad.com, and thebeautydepartment.com

Shut the Noise Off, Please.

Sometimes, throughout my day, I amazed at the amount of "noise" in our world today. From technology, to Hollywood, to music & the cinema, etc. There is always something in our face, or some voice in our ear telling us what we should be, and what we should do; essentially what mold we are to fit in. The "noise" all around me can really mess with me sometimes, and there are a few things I like to go to, to find quietness, reflection, and abounding creativity. Some of those things are listening to inspiring individuals, and drawing from the creative eye of others, thus today I want to share, Jean Paul Gaultier's visit to the school of fashion at my very own University, The Academy of Arts. As well, there are some pictures of Glady's Pertint Palmer's famous fashion illustrations. Make sure to check out her blog, here.

(Pictures via Glady's Perint Palmer)

What do you do to quiet the noise?
Happy Wednesday! We are halfway through the week--Easter is just around the corner!
P.S. Are any of you going to see Titanic in 3D?I know I am!
Favorite movie of all time!
Peace. Love. Joy.

Sunday Stroll.

Yesterday, I spent the day in D.C. just strolling around with my Mom, visiting shops, walking along the Potomac, and grabbing some yummy food :) It was certainly a blast--but, then again, I am a bit bias since it happens to be one of my favorite places in all the world. I can't help but think about our founding fathers and all they did, while I venture through those streets. I don't know why, but something in me is always drawn to the great mystery and beauty of history. I wore a color-blocked outfit; with a pastel pink sweater, and some cobalt blue pants. I am so loving all the color this season! :)

(sweater-L.L. Bean, pants- Merona, loafers- Mossimo, jewelry-random, shades-DVF, purse-MK)

We visited one of my favorite monuments; the MLK monument--
I'll leave you with one of my favorites of his grand sayings,
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort & convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge & controversy."

Peace. Love. Joy.
