Prabal Gurung, Nepal native and fashion designer who launched his first collection in February 2009 is making a difference in his home country of Nepal. Gurung has begun a charity called, Shikshya Foundation, which provides an education for girls, some of whom are victims of human trafficking. He funds much of his work from his collections. He is quoted saying,
"I happen to be a designer who makes clothes, and through clothes-as little as it may sound in terms of the bigger picture of humanity-my interest has always been about empowerment."
