Fashion Week just finished...
and,
this week the issue of human trafficking has been on my mind more than ever.
I've been dreaming up a storm about how I can be a part of demolishing this atrocity.
Big dreams--of movements, but also little dreams--of my own life.
I want to really live my life in such a way, that it speaks of what I am passionate about with trafficking (as well with everything in my life).
I don't want to solely throw something out there, and not be living it.
I have this huge conviction about free trade...buying things, that aren't being produced through slavery. From food, to coffee, to even clothes....
I want this issue to consume every part of who I am.
Why? Because I think, honestly, that's where change begins.
Secondly, something that has been going through my head...
and I would love feedback..
is this,
we take these girls out of sex trafficking, and teach them to make jewelry or sew etc, etc...
and its all SOO gooood, as its totally better than being sold daily to have sex...
BUT,
I feel like it's almost a form of slavery in some sense.
Why do we have to restrict these girls to one occupation...
why not give them the opportunity to dream, get educated....make their own life?
We get that opportunity, they should to.
That's just my opinion.
Would love to hear your thoughts.
Peace. Love. Joy.
