(Personally, I really hope Meryl Streep finally gets an Oscar...)
The Oscars went very well for me personally, can't say I was one bit disappointed.
Christian Bale got best supporting actor--bravo! The lovely Natalie Portman got best actress, and had a classy speech as well. And, of course Colin Firth got best actor, which was more than well deserved! And, picture of the year went to The King's Speech....that I was more than thrilled about. I had this horrible fear that Social Network would win, and to be honest it would have ruined my night.
I love that a film like The King's Speech won, with a message that is so glorious...but alas that is a whole blog in itself!
Now onto the fashion of the matter....
My favorite gowns of the night are as follows:
1) Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Couture

I know this is an either "love it" or "hate it" gown--but I absolutely adore it! I love the detail, the uniqueness, and still the simplicity of this gown! And, Cate is such a classy person that she makes the gown look even better!
2) Scarlett Johansson in Dolce & Gaabbana

This is definitley my second pick of the night, the minute I saw Scarlett in it I pretty much fell in love! I know a lot may disagree, but I find this dress completely wonderful! I love all the lace detail, the color, and most importantly the cut out back. (if only they took pictures of the back of the gown :[)
Note: Lace & Cut out backs are some of my fashion obsessions right now..maybe why I love it so much.
3)Mila Kunis in Elie Saab

Everything about this gown is lovely...the lace, the color (very springy!), and the overall design :)
4) Halle Berry in Marchesa

I am loving this nude color trend that is going on, so this dress completely qualifies! The design is so glamorous and of course Halle looks drop dead gorgeous...as always!
5) Mandy Moore in Monique Lhuillier

Loving the ivory tone on this gown! The detail is amazing as well! So simply elegant if you ask me.
Well folks, there you have it for my top 5 pick of the night! :)
And, let me not forget the winner of the night, Natalie Portman. It's not my favorite dress of the night, but it still deserves some credit, as it is quite lovely! I think the color is perfect for her and the dress is very classy; I definitely love the off the shoulders detail! Very chic!
(Natalie is wearing a Rodarte gown)

Peace. Love. Joy.
